I know so many people who have lost thier treasured photos because of a hard drive gone bad or a device crashing. Not only that, but what happens if your phone dies and not everything is backed up or you are not backing up your photos (**gasp**)?

It happened to me, the external hard drive I had died. I lost nearly all of my son's childhood photographs. Yes, my heart was broken. We tried to take it to a place who said they could recover information on crashed drives, nothing could be recovered. POOF - years gone in a moment. Not to mention technology changing as fast as it does, you never know when a storage option is going to go out of date (floppy disc or burned CDs anyone?).
There are several options to save your photos. I am a big proponent of printing them. No, not ALL of them. But definitely the best of a group or day or event. Put them in a printed book. So many companies make it very easy now. It can also be fairly inexpensive when you catch a sale. There are a few companies I like such as snapfish.com or shutterfly.com No sponsorship here, but I have used them a lot in the past. Plus, it is just fun to look through a book or album.
For all that is holy, back your photos up and make sure someone your family knows how to access them. Put that login information with your life insurance or in your will! Again, so many options to choose from. Some sites back up your phone photos automatically. I have used those listed above to keep photos in albums on their servers for years. I think I have over 115,000 photos on SnapFish. Yikes!
It is also completely valid (and not at all loony tunes) to have a double back up. I am for this idea 100%.
Great callout! Losing photos is awful!! These are great ideas. Thanks for sharing!
